My Favourite Cartoon

Mulan is my favourite cartoon. It was released on the year of my birth, 1998! It was produced by Walt Disney and is one of the most unique cartoons I've ever seen. Although there are many children who love the Mulan cartoon, only a few know what it's really about. Most people think it's just a fictious cartoon based on somebody's imagination. But for real, Mulan is based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan.

So who is this Hua Mulan?
Hua Mulan is a Chinese heroine who joined an all-male army described in the famous Chinese poem known as the Ballad of Mulan. Whatever happens in the Disney cartoon is exactly the same as described in the poem. It's about a girl who is depressed because his father was called to participate in the war. Mulan didn't have an elder brother so her father didn't have a grown son to send on his behalf. Mulan hesitated to send her sick Father to the war, so she dicided to go herself! She disguised herself as a man and left for war.

*Now that's like a true heroine!*

She fought the enemies on the battlefield like no one else could. She was the main reason why the enemies got defeated. Everyone was so proud of her but no one knew she was a girl. When they finally found out, everyone was so shocked. However, it was too late to frown because Mulan had already proved herself and her modesty. The Chinese people excepted her true identity and made her a heroine of China. That was how Mulan became a role model for all the women and men, not only in China, but the whole wide world!
*Way to go Mulan!*

I hope you all like Mulan too. Isnt she wonderful? I'm not sure whether Hua Mulan is historical or fictitious. No one knows. But the poem is so historical that it's hard to believe that it can be fictitious at all. So as a huge fan of the cartoon and the poem, I believe that Hua Mulan actually did exist!

Anyways, that's it was this post. I'll be posting more about cartoons and sports and stuff. Keep visiting. :)
